During a recent photoshoot, among my digital photos I also used my Plaubel Makina 67 camera with Kodak Ektar 100 film.
Ektar is supposed to be more of a landscape film with its vivid colors, but every single time I have used it for portraiture or people generally, I am very happy from this results.
It can produce a reddish color on the faces but this is very easily corrected in post. On the other hand , it is very sharp and fine grain film, and it also scans very well (it was optimised for it by Kodak). It also works great when I convert it to black and white.
So, when shooting outdoors I tend to prefer it as my main film and I will resort to Portra 400 only when I need the extra speed and dynamic range.
All photos below were shot with Plaubel Makina 67 with Kodak Ektar 100, and scanned on a Nikon Coolscan 9000 scanner.
