SInar_HP5No69_f22_s1_8_150mm_pol_001After quite some time, here are three new images shot with my Sinar Norma 4×5 camera. I used Ilford HP5 film, which is not best suited for the landscape shots I did, still the grain is much less noticeable than a medium format or 35mm image. Operating once again the view camera, was a wonderful experience, and looking at the developed negatives is always a happy moment for me !

Development was done with Ilfotec DD-X using the MOD54 processor.

  1. I would say that the negative looks a little washed out.
    Wich developer have you used?

  2. Sorry, i see now, was not paying attention to the tag.
Dd-x is a push developer that ilford reccommend for 3200 asa.
    It would be aggressive.
I saw very good results with ID-11.
I use only distilled water to avoid salt and stain and wash the negative 5 minutes at the end.

I have used DD-X with HP5 with very good results in the past. This time it didn’t go as good as I expected. Maybe I got a light leak (my bellows need checking again) or something else. I couldn’t agree more about distilled water, every single time I use tab water my negatives get messy.
