Dristela

“Dristela” is a place where traditionally people would come to wash heavy carpets and blankets. Water is passing through a funnel and it comes out with heavy pressure on a cone shape tank. That creates cyclical movement in the tank and this way blankets and carpets are washed.

I had the chance to visit a dristela, so I took a few photos and made a very short video to document this not often seen washing process.

All images were taken with the Leica M8 and Voigtlander Super Wide Heliar 15mm f/4.5 lens. Its not considered to be a “documentary” lens, but at his specific case it was exactly what I needed.

Here’s a short clip of the “dristela”.
