Fuji FP-100C

The Fuji PA-145 back for instant film has been a very helpful addition to my large format gear. Although it does not cover the full 4×5 frame, it can really help me estimate accurately the exposure and my focusing. Especially with the Nikkor 90mm f/8 SW where in many cases my dim ground glass makes it difficult for me to judge focusing, its a real savior.

As you can see above, the left part of the image is out of focus, so by taking a look at the instant print, I was able to do the necessary corrections.

Besides the fact that I get an instant preview, a Polaroid print is also good by itself as a complete photo. Its small, but its always exciting to look at a Polaroid photo !!

What I have noticed, is that I need to fully cover the back with the dark cloth, otherwise I get some light leaks. I don’t know if that is supposed to happen with this back, but covering it from light works for me so I don’t consider it to be a problem anymore.

So far, I have only used the color instant film from Fuji. My next pack will be the b&w one.
