An abandoned vilage

A few photos taken at an abandoned village called Gavros, near the city of Kastoria, Greece. You can see the GPS location by visiting this Panoramio page.

(Nikon D800E, Nikon 28-300 f/3.5-5.6 lens, panoramic crop).

The good thing with having 36 megapixels is that you can crop to a 3:1 format (resembling the look of a 6×17 panoramic film camera) and still have 21 megapixels left which are more than enough for a quality large print. I would much prefer the look of a 6×17 image with Fuji Velvia which would look absolutely fantastic at these weather conditions but when you don’t have enough time, a fast digital camera like the D800E comes to play !!
