The Nikon D800E in addition to the known Interval Shooting feature, also has a Timelapse function, which shoots sequential images and composes them to a video file in camera. This is very helpful for those times where you want to take a fast time-lapse, and view it instantly without messing with post production in a computer.
You just choose the number of images and interval between shots. The camera will show on screen the length of the composed video. You just choose START, and after the shooting is done, the video is instantly ready for review. It’s a really cool setting, which I am sure I will use from time to time when I find interesting scenes for time-lapse photography.
