There was heavy rain yesterday, and I tried some macro shots at my balcony. My setup was the Nikon D800E with the Tamron 90mm f/2.8 lens and I also used the SB-700 flash.
Although I had used the SB-700 when shooting insects with no problem at all, the lighting conditions I faced in this session were quite tricky, I had to constantly change the flash compensation from -0.3 to -1.7 to get proper exposure in some shots. A tripod would get me better images, but there was wind and my camera got wet very soon. Now, I don’t particularly worry about droplets on my camera and lens, but I didn’t want to end up with a wet flash, so I took my images as fast as I could.
