Train crossing bridge (and thoughts on a missing photo)

As the simple post title says, I had the chance of watching a train crossing a large bridge recently (not something worth making the news, but until now I had never taken such a photo). I was there for taking some images of this spectacle, when I heard the train coming. I hardly managed to grab my NEX and make a couple of images.

Now, what really bothered me a lot is that just a minute ago I had packed my Gaoersi 617 panoramic camera after taking a photo of the bridge. It would have been a completely different (and far more interesting) subject to shoot the bridge while the train was crossing it. Being able to print this images 3 meters long (that’s 120 inches) would reveal the greatness of this scene, since by looking at the 16 megapixels NEX file (less since it was cropped on a more panoramic format) does not really represent what the eyes have seen while been there.

There are some subjects that only can be appreciated when viewed on a very large print and that was one of them. I rarely complain when missing a chance for a good image, but this one really bothered me, so when I find the chance I am going to visit this area again, put my 617 camera on the tripod and patiently wait for next train !!!
