Just an image for this post, but also one of my favorite photos. It was taken with the Nikon D700 and the Nikkor 135mm f2 DC lens. The only thing that was done in post process was the conversion to monochrome. The special look of this image with the out of focus areas was created by just turning the defocus control of the lens.
The defocus control ring on this lens allows for altering either the background or foreground bokeh, and by experimenting with this you can create very interesting images. It’s mainly a portrait lens but when you set it at f2 and mess up with the defocus control you can make unique images from everyday subjects. A wondeful lens by all means !!!
