Images with Fuji Velvia 50

The Fuji Velvia 50 is a unique and wonderful film. Slow speed, very tricky to expose right, limited dynamic range but with fantastic saturation, contrast and sharpness. The best ever landscape film. Use it with a medium format camera, scan it with a good film scanner like the Coolscan 9000 and you get wonderful prints with superb image quality.
Every time I get a developed roll of Velvia from the lab I am simply amazed. Viewing it on a lightbox is a joy, and I a sure that even the Coolscan cannot retrieve the full information that there is on a Velvia frame.
I shoot it on box speed although I have recently tried it with ISO 40 exposure with very good results. When light is tricky I will bracket by 2/3 stops just to make sure that I got the right exposure. It’s sure is a film that I will use till the day they stop producing it !!
